Active Threat and Lockdown Procedures

In the event of an active shooter or violent threat, lock all doors and windows if safe to do so, turn off lights, silence electronics, and remain in your current location until an all-clear alert is issued. Follow instructions from campus police and do not exit the building until notified it is safe.

Suspicious Package or Substance Protocol

If a suspicious package or substance is found, do not touch or move it. Clear the area and immediately notify campus police. Wait for authorities to assess the situation and follow all instructions, including possible evacuation. Do not use phones or radios near the area.

Severe Weather Advisory and Shelter Procedures

Meridian University advises all students, faculty, and staff to monitor for severe weather alerts. In the event of a severe weather warning, proceed to the nearest designated shelter-in-place location as posted in classrooms. Weather alerts will be announced via official university social media and the website. Remain indoors until an all-clear is given.
