Student Detained After Rumors of Gun Inside MCCTC
On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center responded to a rumor about a student possibly bringing a gun onto school grounds. The Canfield Police Department, including a K9 unit, was notified. Several labs were searched, students were interviewed, and the student in question was detained and removed from the school during the investigation. The school was not placed on lockdown, and administration states there is no ongoing threat to students or staff.
