Residential Break-ins in Allston-Brighton Area Near Campus
high
The Boston Police Department issued a safety advisory following a series of residential break-ins and attempted break-ins in the Allston-Brighton neighborhoods, particularly in areas near Boston College and Boston University. Six break-ins occurred between February 13 and April 3, with three incidents between March 20 and April 3 involving homes occupied by BC students. The alleged suspect is described as a male of unknown race, dressed in all black, gloves, and a ski mask. On April 3, BC students spotted a suspicious individual matching this description in a yard on Radnor Road, appearing to scout the property. The individual attempted to flee and was last seen running down Radnor Road. These incidents remain under active investigation.
Action: Residents should take preventive measures including securing doors and windows, installing security devices such as window bars, remaining vigilant, and reporting suspicious activity to Boston Police or BC Police immediately. Do not attempt to apprehend suspicious individuals; instead, alert nearby police officers.
